SuperCup season signs off in style

2017’s stunning Supercup race season came to a close with the champions taking to the stage to receive their trophies.

The glamorous end-of-season dinner dance at the Radisson Blu Hotel close to Donington Park was a chance for drivers, family and friends to dress up and let their hair down.

The coveted silverware glinted in the glowing green lights as Luke Herbert took the opportunity to take the microphone from coordinator Mandy Andrew. He said a few words in front of the 150-strong audience, charting how competitive it had been and revealing that the 2017 title had been far more challenging to secure, than back in 2012 when he last took the honour.

Tom Roche and Jack Harding received their trophies for second and third place, Garry Townsend picked up the much-contested Masters trophy and Aidan Hills was named Rookie of the Year.

As the night wore on, dancing, drinking, and discussing plans for next year swiftly took over from the formalities - and the class of 2018 will have a lot to live up to.
